9x9” acrylic and oil pastel on paper, unframed as is. This piece started as a simple tribute to one of God’s greatest gifts: coffee. But as I painted the rising steam that intersected with morning light, I was reminded of Paul’s call for us to “wake up” in Ephesians chapter 5.
When you reach for your coffee, be reminded that the same way the steam rises morning after morning, so do our prayers. They do not return void. Reach for Jesus like you do for your coffee… One wakes you up for a short time, the other wakes you up for the life you were created to live.
